For over two thousand years, the world has wondered one thing: what are Jesus Christ’s stats? And now, thanks to a trading card being distributed alongside AHOY Comics‘s Toxic Avenger Team-Up #1, we know the answer: his Resilience and Charisma are high, but Broseph is low on Luck, dawg.
“As players of certain games know full well, eight is the lowest score you can get,” AHOY Comics’s Tom Peyer exclusively told Comic Book Club. “I weep for Jesus’ luck.”
To take a little step back here, Toxie Team-Up is a new miniseries that, per the title, teams up the Toxic Avenger with a wild array of characters from AHOY’s stable of books. First up is the version of Jesus Christ seen in Second Coming, and sure enough the issue is written by Mark Russell, with art by Richard Pace. Here’s the official synopsis:
Spinning straight out of his acclaimed solo title, the Toxic Avenger battles alongside some of comics’ greatest and most controversial superstars in this surprise limited series. First up, from AHOY’s own SECOND COMING: Jesus Christ, the Son of God! Written and drawn by that smash hit comic’s creative team, Mark Russell (Batman: Dark Age) and Richard Pace, with a cover by Toxie’s own artist, Fred Harper!
In fact, the issue will have three covers: one main cover by Harper, a second by Pace, and the third one a bagged cover by Harper featuring the Rick Geary trading card seen exclusively below.
That cover, including the trading card, will cost $4.99 versus $3.99. But isn’t a dollar worth it to be able to have Jesus Christ battle Pikachu or whatever it is you kids do these days?
