It’s been two years since Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse premiered in theaters, and over a year since the conclusion of the trilogy, Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse, was supposed to be released in theaters. While it’s a bummer it hasn’t come out yet, as of last night’s (March 31) CinemaCon presentation from Sony Pictures, we finally know the new premiere date for Beyond the Spider-Verse: June 4, 2027.

In case you don’t know, CinemaCon is a yearly convention in Las Vegas where studios tout their upcoming slates to theater owners across America in order to snag the most valuable commodity in film: screens. In recent years, the con has become a press bonanza as well, with sneak peeks of full movies, trailers, and teases of what’s coming next.

Sony’s presentation included 28 Years Later and the Resident Evil reboot, but the real draw was, and always is, the Spider-Man movies. On the MCU front, Tom Holland appeared via video to announce the title of Spider-Man 4 is Spider-Man: Brand New Day, while director Daniel Cretton appeared to tease how that movie is unlike anything we’ve ever seen before with Spider-Man.

There was no footage of that one, though — but there is of Beyond the Spider-Verse. Picking up where the last one left off, Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) is held captive by his evil, multiversal doppelganger, The Prowler (Jharrel Jerome)… And in the stills provided by Sony, you can see that not only has Miles broken free, but there’s a showdown between the… Mileses? Meanwhile, in a haunting image Miles and Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld) are alone on what looks like either a buoy or some sort of cobbled together platform.

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is directed by Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson, and written by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller & David Callaham. It is also confirmed to star Jason Schwartzman as The Spot, and Karan Soni as Spider-Man India.
