WonderCon 2025: The Can’t-Miss Comic Book, TV, And Spotlight Panels

wondercon logo

WonderCon 2025, the little sister of San Diego Comic-Con, kicks off today in Anaheim, California. While it’s not nearly as packed with big TV and movie panels as the July celebration, there’s still a ton of awesome sounding panels, some great comic book spotlights, and most importantly: Comic Book Club will be on site this year doing interviews, and breaking out news from panels.

If you are interested in WonderCon, or just curious what’s going down… Well, the schedule can be a bit of a beast. Particularly when it comes to Saturday afternoon, where it seems like every cool-sounding panel is being held in a two-hour period. Don’t worry, there are three full days of programming including panels, signings, screenings, and your requisite masquerade. But it can be difficult to navigate.

So with that in mind, we’ve taken a look through the panel schedule to highlight some of the do-not-miss discussions you’ll want to check out at the Anaheim Convention Center, from looks at what’s coming up in DC Comics, to looks back at Invincible, and much, much more.

Note: all times are in PST, all events are at the Anaheim Convention Center.

WonderCon 2025 Panel Schedule Highlights, Friday, March 28, 2025:

DSTLRY: The Future of Sci-Fi (1:00 pm, Room 300A): Chuck Austen and Scott Hoffman help kick off WonderCon’s programming with a look ahead at the upstart, prestige publisher’s offerings.

Comic-Con: The Cruise: An Immersive Fan Experience (2:30 pm, Room 200A): This may end up being the equivalent of a time-share presentation, but it’s certainly intriguing to find out about how Comic-Con is extending the brand onto the high seas.

Spotlight On Dan Slott: Playing the Long Game in a Shared Universe (3:00 pm, Room 207): Slott is straddling both DC and Marvel, and is always a boisterous presence, even though it sounds like from the panel title he’s about to scam everyone out of all their money.

Spotlight on Sean Gordon Murphy (4:00 pm, Room 209): Come hear Murphy talk about the Batman: White Knight universe, among other things.

Spotlight on Derek Kirk Kim (5:00 pm, Room 209): Kim is responsible for Image Comics’s superb The Last Mermaid, so well worth checking this out.

Spotlight on Sam Maggs (5:00 pm, Room 211): Maggs has worked on Star Wars books among many other things, so decide who you like better — Derek Kirk Kim, or Sam Maggs — because these two spotlights are at the same time and you can’t see them both.

Working on the Set: Skeleton Crew and Kenobi (5:00 pm, Room 207): Some of the best panels I’ve ever seen involve puppeteers geeking out about their craft. Guess what this panel is about?

Spotlight on Todd McFarlane (5:15 pm, Room North 200A): …Or you can cut out of the above after 15 minutes and go see baseball’s biggest fan live on stage. Why did they schedule all the spotlights in an impossible-to-navigate block? I don’t know!

Spotlight on Darick Roberton (6:00 pm, Room 209): Robertson somehow avoids the 5 pm Spotlight Massacre with a slot all on his own. Come chat with him about The Boys, among other things!

Collider: Shudder’s Clown in a Cornfield (6:30 pm, North 200A): Based on the books, the new movie gets some sneak peeks and surprise guests.

Adult Swim’s Lazarus Sneak Peek Screening (7:45 pm, North 200A): Shinichirō Watanabe’s new anime screens episodes 1 and 2. Note: there’s no panel or Q&A, just the screening.

Advance Screening of the Season Two Premiere Episode of The Walking Dead: Dead City (AMC/AMC+) (9:00 pm, North 200A): Another no-frills screening, this time of the May-debuting new season of the zombie series.

World of X-Men ’92 and X-Men ’97 (12:30 pm, North 100B): Behind-the-scenes folks as well as the voices of Wolverine, Magneto, and Bishop hit the stage to discuss the classic show and the revival. Will they give scant but exciting info about X-Men ’97 Season 2? Probably!

Dive Deep with Clips and Conversations with Prime Video’s Invincible (12:45 pm, North 200A): While no cast will be attending, and the always-on Robert Kirkman won’t be there either, this still should be an interesting look at Season 3 of the series.
