The final chapter of “We Are Yesterday,” the first major crossover of the DC All In era, arrives on June 25. And true to form, it won’t just wrap up the events of the story… It’ll also help set up the “next major event” in the DC Universe.
The six-part story is written by Mark Waid, and will pit the Justice League against the Legion of Doom, once again. In part six, which will hit in Justice League Unlimited #8, with art by Travis Moore, “The Justice League stands alone as a wave of chronal mayhem crashes on the shores of their Watchtower base…but all hope is not yet lost! A last-minute mayday may just be enough to stem the tide…but for how long?”
DC teases that not only will the issue reveal the fate of Gorilla Grodd — maybe he’ll finally become a real boy? — but also “marks a significant step in the next major event in the DC Universe!” What will that event be? Smart money says it ties into the upcoming DC Absolute Universe crossover. Or it could be setting up the events crashing together of the main universe and the Absolute Universe. Or it could be something else entirely, like Gorilla Grodd finally becomes a real boy.
Justice League Unlimited #8 features the final connecting cover by Dan Mora that will run through all six issues, plus covers by Ejikure, Tiago Da Silva, Salvador Larrocca, and Travis Moore, a DC Pride month variant cover by Hayden Sherman, and a tribute variant cover featuring art by George Pérez.
