Jean Grey’s Sister Returns In Phoenix:

It wouldn’t be a Phoenix story without resurrection. And in May’s Phoenix #11, Jean Grey’s sister Sara Grey is back!

Who is Sara? Well, she was seemingly killed off back in the ’90s, and now writer Stephanie Phillips and new series artist Roi Mercado will pick up the reins of a dangling mystery in her past.

Said Phillips, “Jean’s story is often defined by resurrection, so it feels deeply personal to ask her to confront the return of someone she lost and never expected to see again. This forces Jean to grapple with more than just the weight of the Phoenix… It’s about the deeply human conflict between responsibility and longing. Can she balance the cosmic burden of what she is with the personal desire to reclaim what she lost?”

In June’s Phoenix #12, the story will continue as Sara explains how she survived being killed by villains the Phalanx. Phoenix #11 goes on sale on May 14, and Phoenix #12 hits stores on June 11.

Mark Waid Writes The New History Of The DC Universe:

Writer Mark Waid is teaming up with an array of all-star artists to do nothing less than chronicle the history of the DC Comics universe in the appropriately named four-issue series, New History of the DC Universe.

Said Waid via press release, “This is my dream project. It’s a chance to realign all of DC’s sprawling continuity into one master timeline, and to be joined by some of comics’ greatest artists to make it shine. With new information for even longtime fans, plus Easter eggs galore, this series will be an essential read for DC fans.”

In the first issue, Waid is teamed with Jerry Ordway and Todd Nauck to follow Barry Allen, from birth, to the dawn of the Justice Society.

New History of the DC Universe #1 hits stores on June 25.

Dark Horse Comics To Publish Rocky Horror Sequel:

Dark Horse will publish a comic book sequel to the cult classic Rocky Horror Picture Show, written by Magdalene Visaggio.

The news comes via The Beat, which reports off of Bleeding Cool, which is based on since deleted skeets by Visaggio on Bluesky. So a fun game of telephone. But per the deleted posts, the book will be titled Bride of Rocky Horror, and is set seven years after the events of the movie. In the book, Brad Majors has transitioned into a woman named Bridget von Frankenstein. And Visaggio has already been writing music for the comic with her band Daisy & Jane.

While there are no additional details at this time, the book is planned for an October release. And at least as of now, seems to be unconnected to the 1981 Rocky Horror sidequel movie Shock Treatment.
