Guy Fieri is heading from Flavortown to the DC Comics universe for a “celebrity cameo” variant cover for Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #37.
Drawn by Dan Mora, the cover joins a long line of other celebrity variants including Jack White, Sir Paul McCartney, Jerry Seinfeld, William Shatner, and Nicolas Cage. However, Fieri marks the first time a celebrity immortalized on a DC Comics cover invented something called “Donkey Sauce.”
To be clear, this is not a cameo in the book as reported on other outlets, but rather a variant cover on the issue. If Fieri was joining the DC Universe proper, he’d likely have some sort of fire powers, or have a superhero name like “Triple D” (for Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives). Or something, I dunknow, I’m just trying to flesh out an article that essentially is “here’s a cover for a comic.” Leave me alone.
Anyway, the Guy Fieri Celebrity Cameo cover, which also features Batman and Superman snacking down with the Mayor, hits stores tomorrow, March 19. You can check out a version of it below, as well as all the other celeb cameo covers. Click for larger versions!
