For the first two seasons, Invincible didn’t pull its punches when it came to violence, giving us one shocking moment after another. Thankfully, the same goes for its third installment, which just finished streaming. In the season, Mark faced new foes — including versions of himself — and lost friends. So what could be more fitting than reveling in the bloodbath and ranking every Season 3 episode by brutality?
Note that we must dive into dangerous territory and talk about some HUGE spoilers. We’ll mention some major developments — and character deaths. So be warned, if you haven’t watched yet. That said? Let’s break it all down, gruesome episode by gruesome episode.
8. “This Was Supposed to Be Easy” (Episode 5)

If you want to watch something with no blood or guts… Well, this is not it. In a thrilling prison escape attempt, Multi-Paul, Dupli-Kate’s brother, kills off many of his doubles to destroy his cell and inhibiting collar. Still, most of the story focuses on other craziness in the episode, with Mark even fighting a giant dragon.
7. “You’re Not Laughing Now” (Episode 1)

The season has a good start, but it’s quite tame. Of course, tame for Invincible still means we get a POV of Mark killing dozens of Paul’s clones. But, most importantly, it serves as a setup for the spectacular (and violent) second episode.
6. “You Were My Hero” (Episode 4)

This is a double story, so, of course, double the gore. In the first half, Mark is forced to kill an evil mad dictator from the future. Then, we get the long-awaited escape attempt from Nolan and Allen. The best thing here is knowing the brutality involves killing more crazed Viltrumites, aka the bad guys.
5. “You Want a Real Costume, Right?” (Episode 3)

Mark finally puts on the blue suit, and it comes with a lot of blood. The Mauler Twins have been with us since the first season, but Oliver brutally kills them, even as they beg for their lives. It’s an event that shapes much of much of the story and creates a big dilemma for Mark.
4. “All I Can Say Is I’m Sorry” (Episode 6)

Powerplex’s story is rough. His villain motivation already starts with one of Invincible’s worst moments, his catastrophic battle against Omni-Man. But what truly makes the episode brutal is that Powerplex kills his own wife and baby son by mistake in his quest for revenge.
3. “A Deal with the Devil” (Episode 2)

Cecil proves why he is the leader of the GDA and brings Invincible to his knees. Seeing him almost explode Mark’s ears while the ReAnimen viciously beat the hero up won’t leave fans’ minds anytime soon. It’s an important wake-up call for him — and us.
2. “What Have I Done?” (Episode 7)

Angstrom recruits dozens of evil Marks to destroy Earth and make everyone hate Invincible. It’s a systematic and gradual chaos that shows the protagonist’s truly dark potential. Not only do civilians die, but heroes like Business Baby (too pure for this world) and even Rex Splode bite the big one.
1. “I Thought You’d Never Shut Up” (Episode 8)

Mark can’t catch a break. Conquest — one of the strongest Viltrumites — arrives almost immediately after the Invincible War to rip his head off. Unlike Anissa or Nolan, he’s a sadist… The type that attempts to slowly rip a kid in half, and you can bet the sound design makes it even more gruesome. Many near deaths, a lot of real deaths, exposed bones, crying, and liters of blood. A perfectly bloody end for a gruesome season finale!
