Sadie Sink Joins ‘Spider-Man 4’ As Mysterious Redhead

Sadie Sink in Stranger Things

Sadie Sink is trading in the Upside Down for upside-down kisses, as the actress is joining Spider-Man 4 in a mystery role.

The news comes via Deadline, which reports merely that Sink has been added to the movie, alongside Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, and Zendaya as Michelle “MJ” Jones. Daniel Destin Cretton, who previously directed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and co-created the upcoming Wonder Man, is directing the movie. Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige return as producers.

…But that’s all we know about the film at the current time. Naturally, given Sink has red hair, fans thoughts are turning to one major Marvel character long associated with Spider-Man: Arcade, the villain who forces people to play large arcade games to kill them, and is very bad at it.

Or, actually, they’re mostly guessing Jean Grey, the mutant who is associated with the X-Men.

Also I guarantee the worst people on the internet are screaming “Mary Jane Watson” the long time girlfriend of Spider-Man, despite the fact that Zendaya holds that role in the movies. Those dudes suck.

While the last Spider-Man movie ended with Peter making the world forget he’s Spider-Man, including MJ and his friend Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon), there is one other wrinkle that both helps and confuses with Sadie Sink’s casting: Spider-Man 4 is currently scheduled for July 31, 2026, right between Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. This is pure speculation, but it’s possible that the fourth Spider-Man movie could take place on a patchwork planet called Battleworld, made of the remains of the multiverse. If that’s so, Sink could be playing a multiversal variant of another character (sigh: Mary Jane), Jean Grey from the X-Men’s Earth, or maybe Arcade.

Probably not Arcade, though. Or, possibly even some character who doesn’t have red hair, if you can imagine that!
