One World Under Doom teases a hero team-up.

This is Comic Book Club News for March 6, 2025.

Absolute Batman Tops February 2025 Sales Charts:

It’s looking like one world under Batman, as Absolute Batman #5 topped the February 2025 sales charts, beating out One World Under Doom #1.

Per ICv2, the Top 10 was mostly dominated by DC’s Absolute Universe, and Marvel’s Ultimate Universe — other than the aforementioned Doom event at number two. In third place was Absolute Superman #4, followed by Ultimate Wolverine #2, Ultimates #9, Ultimate Spider-Man #14, and at number seven, Absolute Wonder Woman #5.

Overall, DC took 13 of the slots in the Top 50, while Marvel reasserted its market dominance with 33 titles in the Top 50 — perhaps due in part to the overwhelming amount of product the House of Ideas released over the course of the shortest month of the year.

That left three slots for Image Comics, with the latest issue of Transformers hitting number nine, and G.I. Joe and Bug Wars both charting in the low twenties. The only other publisher to break into the Top 50 was IDW, with TMNT #7 ranking at 49.

Ms. Marvel Heads To Dark Phoenix Saga:

We’ve already covered the news that Marvel will be releasing a series of one-shots honoring 50 years of Giant-Size X-Men that will send Ms. Marvel through time to visit classic moments in X-Men history. But will the second issue, Giant-Size X-Men: The Dark Phoenix Saga #1 change the course of one of the most impactful moments in Jean Grey’s life?

Written by Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing, with art by Adam Kubert, the event will see Ms. Marvel sent rocketing through the past thanks to Legion. As they battle through time, per PR, “As the story we know unfolds before her eyes, the new mutant must team up with Jean Grey in her darkest hour and master her dangerous new mutant power in this cosmic, emotional saga.”

The issue will also feature a Revelations Back-Up Story by Steve Foxe and Lucas Werneck which will, “reveal the hidden secret that binds Scott Summer and Jean Grey together.”

Giant-Size X-Men: Dark Phoenix Saga #1 hits stores on June 11, 2025.

One World Under Doom Teases A Hero Team-Up:

Dogs sleeping with cats? Hell freezing over? No, it’s just Doctor Doom teaming up with the Marvel Universe heroes in One World Under Doom #5.

In the issue by Ryan North and R.B. Silva, Dormammu is invading Earth, and to stop him the Emperor of the planet has to team up with the good guys to bring him down. And in the middle of that, another bad guy returns. Who is it? Is it you? Probably not.

Per Marvel, “Broken, depleted, but having bought the time he needed, Doom ensured victory. Now, Earth’s heroes face a choice: They can allow Earth to fall to Dormammu – or they can align with Doom and fight for Earth beside him. Doom is at his highest – with Earth’s heroes behind him, nothing can stop him now. Nothing that is, save for an unexpected return of an old foe…”

One World Under Doom #5 hits stores on June 11.
