The final book in Amy Chu and Soo Lee’s trilogy, Carmilla: The Eternal, is coming from Dark Horse Books and Berger Books. And based on the preview pages provided, it looks like the seductive supernatural vampire thriller is going out in bloody fashion.
“It feels surreal to think, when I pitched the original concept as a trilogy to Karen Berger five years ago that here we are, actually at the end of this fantastic journey,” said Chu via press release. “I’m amazed and grateful that our take on this classic has resonated with so many folks.”
Added Lee, “This third installation to Carmilla is the final to the series but not the last of her name. I wanted the visuals to pack a final punch and turn things on its head. It was an honor to bring Carmilla back to life in this retelling and I’m so proud of my team for creating this universe with me. Thank you to the readers who followed through this haunting journey.”
In the book, Athena Lo’s daughter Ella travels to Oxford after a mysterious patron hires her for a research position. Unfortunately for her, she’s actually being led right back into Carmilla’s “treacherous web.” And as the bodies begin stacking up, only with the help of a secret society of immortals can Ella stop her.
