Jeremy Adams Signs Exclusive With DC Comics:

Jeremy Adams and DC, sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g. That’s right: the writer behind Aquaman and Green Lantern is going exclusive with DC Comics.

The multi-year deal cements what in business terms is a “no-brainer” as Adams has already successfully written The Flash for the publisher, among other titles.

Said Adams via press release, “As a fan first and a longtime admirer of DC’s legacy, it is an honor to follow in the footsteps of the luminaries whose words have thrilled, entertained and inspired me since my earliest days. It’s such a joy to bring these characters to life, to craft new twists, powers and adventures, and to strive to provide the same level of imaginative entertainment that I’ve enjoyed for my entire life.”

It will be interesting to see if this is the first of many exclusives, a la the Big Two exclusive wars of a few years back; or a one-off. Either way, congrats to Adams, and remember, first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes DC in the baby carriage.

Marvel To Publish Secret Wars Archive Edition:

Secret Wars is getting an oversized Archive Edition from Marvel. No, not the 2015 Secret Wars by Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribić; the other, original one.

Per ICv2, the deluxe edition of the classic, 12-issue crossover by Jim Shooter, Mike Zeck, and Bob Layton will come in a 9.25″ x 13″ format, with all 512 pages reprinted including the original ads, fan letters, and more. Fingers crossed you can still order those Sea Monkeys, but we’ll see.

The book will also include a cover gallery, and multiple covers including a standard edition by Mike Zeck, and two direct market variants, also by Zeck: a Hidden Gems cover, and an original collection cover.

The book will release in stores on September 16.

Batman: Hush 2 To Go On Sale Early At Select Stores:

Batman: Hush 2, better known as H2SH, will go on sale early at select stores.

Per Bleeding Cool, the first issue of the new story arc kicking off in Batman #158 will be sold a few hours earlier than the March 26 debut date for comic book stores holding launch parties. Specifically, they can be sold as early as 6:08 PM local time on March 25, in honor of Batman #608, the first issue of the original Hush storyline.

Additional items at the launch party for the new Jim Lee and Jeph Loeb comic include a Batman #159 Ashcan previewing the second issue, and for stores that order 25 of those ashcans, they’ll get a Batman #158 Launch Party Glow-in-the-Dark variant cover, which turns from the bat symbol to a swarm of bats in the dark.

Interesting note: there are also pages inside of the issue, as well. Or maybe not! We’ll know more at 6:08 PM on March 25.

For Comic Book Club News, I’m Alex Zalben. And honestly if Jeremy Adams and DC Comics had a baby it would be so cute.
