Ghost Machine is expanding its line with two titles in 2025: First Ghost, and a Hyde Street spinoff titled Sisterhood: A Hyde Street Story.
The former doesn’t have a specific premiere date, but it will debut in 2025. It’s the extension of Geoff Johns’s “The Unnamed” universe, which currently includes Geiger, Redcoat, Junkyard Joe and more. Written by Brad Meltzer and Johns, with art by Gene Ha, as you might be able to figure out from the title it’s about a haunted White House.
“Geoff and I have been planning this for years,” said Melzter, via a press release provided to Comic Book Club. “It’s a dream come true to work with friends and creative titans like Geoff and Gene. Comic books are one of my first creative loves and I’m thrilled to be part of Ghost Machine, where we can create stories that we’re all invested in.”
And the latter does have a premiere month: July. Set in Ghost Machine’s horror universe, the character of Sister Hood will be introduced in Hyde Street #5 on April 2, before spinning out into a five-issue miniseries. Written by Maytal Zchut, with art by Leila Leiz (who previously collaborated on the It Happened on Hyde Street: Devour one-shot), the book follows two life-long friends whose relationship changes when one drowns during a sorority hazing incident.
And as a bonus, Leiz has signed an exclusive with Ghost Machine to work as an artist there, full-time.
“Maytal and I had so much fun working together on DEVOUR that we knew we wanted to tell another story together,” said Leiz. “When Maytal pitched me the story for SISTERHOOD, I immediately said yes. And when Ghost Machine offered me a chance to work with them on an exclusive basis, it was another easy answer for me.”
