There’s been a lot of online discussion about the release schedule for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, given how all 10 episodes are being burned off over the course of four weeks. Well, get ready for another weird one, as we now know most of the release schedule for Daredevil: Born Again.
Thanks to the just-released monthly “new on” listings for Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+, we know that the first two episodes of the Marvel Studios show will be released at 9pm ET / 6pm ET on Tuesday, March 4. So far, so good: a lot of both Marvel and Lucasfilm’s shows will release a two-episode premiere, so that’s fine.
The next week, one episode will air on March 11, same time, same day. And the fourth episode will air the subsequent week, on March 18 — also at the same time.
…Then things get weird, as both Episode 5 and Episode 6 will be released on March 25. While the listings end there, that leaves three more episodes to stream at some point in April. Whether they’ll stream one a week, ending on April 15, or there will be another double episode week — or triple episode week — is TBA. We’ve reached out to Disney to see if they can confirm the rest of the streaming schedule for the series, though did not hear back as of publication time.
However, I wouldn’t read too much into this. Marvel has already picked up a second season of the series, which will begin filming in March. If anything, perhaps they’re giving more of a ramp to finish up promoting Daredevil, and begin promoting Thunderbolts* (which premieres on May 2).
Here’s the official synopsis for the series, per Disney:
In Marvel Television’s “Daredevil: Born Again,” Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), a blind lawyer with heightened abilities is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course. The series also stars Margarita Levieva, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Zabryna Guevara, Nikki James, Genneya Walton, Arty Froushan, Clark Johnson, Michael Gandolfini, with Ayelet Zurer and Jon Bernthal. Dario Scardapane is showrunner. Episodes are directed by Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead, Michael Cuesta, Jeffrey Nachmanoff, and David Boyd; and executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Sana Amanat, Chris Gary, Dario Scardapane, Chris Ord & Matt Corman, and Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead.
