Marvel To Dig Up Gwen Stacy’s Corpse:
Marvel is teasing that nothing is sacred in a new promo image with art by Paco Medina and Morry Hollowell. Specifically, the image shows off Gwen Stacy’s gravestone, a shadowy figure standing near it, and a shovel seemingly digging up the grave while lightning crashes in the background.
The only other detail? Whatever is happening will happen in May of 2025.
This is far from the first time Marvel has played out some sort of return for Spider-Man’s slain girlfriend. There have been clones, there have been children who were also clones, and there have been ghosts, fever dreams, and even the extremely popular multiversal variant Spider-Gwen.
So what is Marvel teasing this time? Will it be like Weekend at Bernie’s, but with Gwen Stacy? And will this appear in the new ongoing Amazing Spider-Man series, or somewhere else? You can stay tuned next week for more details.
Doctor Doom Takes On Dormammu In One World Under Doom #4:
Dormammu takes on Doctor Doom in One World Under Doom #4!
With Doom taking out the Fantastic Four and Avengers, per PR from Marvel, “Sensing vulnerability, Dormammu has attacked Earth – and only Doom stands in his way! Dormammu has banished all other heroes to a pocket dimension, leaving Doom to stand alone against the Dark Lord of Chaos. But on the other hand…Doom has never needed allies in order to ensure that his will is done. It’s the ultimate showdown between two titans – with an ending you won’t see coming. As Earth hangs in the balance, it all comes down to DOOM VERSUS DORMAMMU.”
One World Under Doom #4 hits stores on May 14, and if someone doesn’t say Dooomormammu then what are we even doing here?
Jon Kent To Be Renamed Super Son:
Jon Kent is getting a name change. The son of Clark and Lois will be called Super Son in the upcoming series, Secret Six.
The character was given the moniker of Superman officially in 2021, after he was aged up and his father left Earth for a little bit. However, per Bleeding Cool the upcoming Secret Six series will tweak his name to Super Son, in a reference to the classic Super-Sons series that teamed up Jon and Damian Wayne.
While the site notes they’ve heard this is to reduce confusion around the new Superman movie, it’s possible this could just be fortuitous timing, combined with Jon Kent being on a black ops style team. Regardless of the reason, for now, Jon Kent is Super Son. At least until the next status quo change.
