‘Narwhal And Jelly’ Creator Goes Under The Sea (Again) for ‘Aquamanatee’

Ben Clanton is the creator of the enormously successful, enormously adorable book series Narwhal and Jelly. And now he, along with Cassandra Federman, is taking his under the sea talents to DC Comics with Aquamanatee.

In the book, Marlow the Manatee dreams of being a hero like Aquaman, but he’s got a few problems. He sleeps in, he eats too much, and most important of all, he’s never left the safety of his saltwater bay. That is until he gets superpowers and teams up with Aquaman himself.

Or as DC puts it, per PR provided to Comic Book Club, “Could an awkward blundering super-powered manatee be the best man-atee for the job?”

The graphic novel is aimed at Early Readers, ages 5 through 7, and hits stores on September 2. You can check out a few pages below, and click for larger versions:
