After last week’s two episode premiere, things really get going in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 1, Episode 3. Titled “Secret Identity Crisis,” the ep finds Spidey tangling with supervillains while grappling with the revelation that Norman Osborn knows his identity. So with some new baddies, who’s who in the Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 1, Episode 3 voice cast?
We’ll get to that in a second, but first a recap of the episode to provide some context. And spoilers past this point. Picking up right where we left off, Norman tells Peter that he knows he’s Spider-Man, but won’t reveal his secret, and they’ll talk more about it tomorrow.
Which, after a brief interlude with an annoyed but forgiving Nico Minoru, we get as Peter meets Norman at Eden, a fancy restaurant the billionaire has completely bought out for the night. After eating basically everything on the menu, Peter tries to convince him the Spider-Man footage is a prank, but no dice. Norman knows it’s him, and not only that, reveals that Peter saved his son, Harry Osborn, back in the series premiere. He wants to upgrade his suit, and help him… But Peter wants to keep Norman safe, and declines, quitting the internship.
Meanwhile, two criminals, Maria Vasquez and James Sanders, put a bag of money in a dumpster — which turns into a robot, climbs up the wall, and leaves them with a suitcase containing what turns out later to be speed boots, and light-knife gauntlets. We’ll get back to them in a second.
Back with Peter, he discovers Aunt May is selling their stuff to make rent, including Uncle Ben’s old camera, which Peter hands on to. And at school, Lonnie tries to buy lunch for everyone, but is low on cash. Right after that incident, he gets called home because his brother, Andre, has been arrested for vandalism. Andre isn’t hanging around, though… He heads to play cards with the 110, a gang run by a man named Big Donovan. When Lonnie goes to get his brother back, Big Donovan won’t let Andre leave… So Lonnie offers himself up instead.
Back with our titular character, Spider-Man tackles with the now super-powered Maria and James (better known in the comics as Speed Demon), and gets his butt handed to him. That is until Norman calls Spider-Man on his mask after hacking it using Oscorp satellites. Spidey’s man in the chair, Norman, coaches him through how to beat the baddies, by getting their armor items close enough together so they short out. Also of note? Their upgrades have the same infinity symbol on them that Butane did in the previous episode… Something Norman sees, as well.
As a result, Peter agrees to let Norman help him, beginning a beautiful… Friendship? TBD.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 1, Episode 3 “Secret Identity Crisis” Cast: Who’s Who In The Voice Cast?

You can check out previous recaps for the main cast, but let’s talk who’s who of the new guys (and gals).
Maria Vasquez is voiced by Anairis Quiñones, who played the voice of Map in the recent Dora reboot, Nessa on Pokémon: Twilight Wings, and Mirko in My Hero Academia, among many other voice roles. As for Maria Vasquez, she was first introduced in Heroes for Hire #1, and goes by the code-name Tarantula. In the comic books, she’s got biological blades in her wrists and toes, which they riff on here.
James Sanders is voiced by Roger Craig Smith, who did a bit voice last episode as Coach Grayfield. Among Smith’s many credits, he’s voiced Captain America numerous times, Chris Redfield in the Resident Evil games, Batman in two of the Arkham games, and Sonic the Hedgehog in the Sonic games. As noted above, James Sanders is better known as Speed Demon in the Marvel comic books. He was first introduced as The Whizzer in 1969 in Avengers, but officially became Speed Demon in Amazing Spider-Man #222, which is how he appears here — though in the books his powers are biological, not technical.
Matte Martinez plays Lonnie’s little brother Andre, and though he doesn’t have a lot of credits to his name, he did appear on 17 episodes of Side Hustle as Ty, aka Tie, and one episode of The Good Doctor as Ricky Rios. Phil Lamarr and Erica Luttrell appear again on the series as Mr. Lincoln and Mrs. Lincoln, respectively.
Our new bad guy gang-leader Big Donovan is voiced by Leilani Barrett, who has done a slew of roles including Pool Boy #2 on Harley Quinn, Bary on The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish, and podcast fans may know him as B.B.A.M. on Sommer Stories. Weirdly, the character has been both a lawyer and criminal in the source material. His first appearance was in 1973’s Luke Cage, Hero for Hire #14, and was previously seen in live-action, played by Danny Johnson, on Daredevil and Luke Cage.
And last but not least, this episode we meet Nico’s foster mother Susan O’Hara, voiced by Zehra Fazal. Fazal previously did the voice of Carla Connors on this very TV show. In addition, she has voiced Halo and Bluebird on Young Justice: Outsiders, Talia al Ghul on various DC animated properties, and Mara on She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.
