The second of two new episodes streaming today on Disney+, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Episode 4, “Hitting The Big Time,” brings on a slew of new costumes, a lot of MCU continuity, and a ton of new bad guys. So who’s who in the voice cast of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Episode 4?
Whoa, cool your jets there, slugger. We’ll get to that in a moment. But first, some context with a brief recap of the episode. And spoilers past this point. After a disastrous presentation to his intern group that leads Bentley Wittman to tear into Peter, he sneaks out to go visit Norman Osborn, who has been working hard developing new suits for his protégé. For you comic book nerds (it’s me, I am comic book nerds), they’re the four suits Spider-Man wore in the 1998 crossover “Identity Crisis,” which found the web-slinger wanted for murder. Later, the suits were wore by a team of teens called the Slingers.
First we get the Prodigy suit, which finds Spidey tangled up in the cape. Then the Hornet suit, which flies nicely but is way too weapons focused for Peter to deal with. And finally the Dusk suit, which is so terrifying it makes a little girl with a balloon cry in the park. Ultimately, Norman iterates something that is closer to the Future Foundation Spider-Man suit, with upgrades — though it’s still not quite right, at least if I’m interpreting Peter Parker’s feelings correctly.
The motivation for Norman here also helps clarify where we are adjacent to the MCU: while all this is going on, the events of Captain America: Civil War — aka the introduction of Tom Holland’s Spidey into the MCU — are playing out. Meaning instead of being at the airport fight in Civil War, Spider-Man is instead working with Norman to create a new generation of heroes. Side-Note: things seem to be turning out the same way with or without Spider-Man at the airport, interestingly. Oh, and as a capper, after stopping some Russian thugs, Peter accidentally reveals his identity to Harry Osborn. Oops!
Over with Lonnie, he’s trying to keep things normal despite now working for Big Donovan as part of the 110 gang. They set him up by sending him to get burritos in a rival territory run by the gang the Scorpions. Who runs the Scorpions. Why, Mac Gargan, known as the Scorpion in the comics. And his second in command is Carmilla Black, who is also known as the Scorpion in the comics. Fun fact!
Lonnie gets chased by the Scorpions, escapes, and sets a new status quo with Big Donovan… He’ll no longer be a pawn, he wants to work with the 110 to keep his family safe.
And as a capper, after three members of the Russian gang escape, one returns to their boss, the guy who is likely behind the weird tech invading New York… Dr. Otto Octavius, the man better known as Doctor Octopus.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 1, Episode 4 “Hitting The Big Time” Cast: Who’s Who In The Voice Cast?

We won’t recap the cast from previous episodes (you can check out our prior breakdowns for all that). But with a lot of new voices there’s still plenty to discuss.
First up, who plays the good Dr. Otto Octavius? None other than Hugh Dancy. Among other roles, Dancy played Will Graham on Hannibal, Prince Charmont in Ella Enchanted, and most recently he’s played Nolan Price on the revival of Law & Order.
Bulldozer, a classic Marvel villain usually part of the team the Wrecking Crew, who does not show up in costume here, is voiced by Ettore Ewen. Maybe better known by Big E, the name he uses when wrestling for the WWE, Ewen also recently appeared on the Hulu series Laid.
Alex Désert voices Grift, another thug (who is not from Marvel Comics), previously voiced Jefferson Davis/Swarm on the 2017 Spider-Man animated series. He also voiced Nick Fury on Wolverine and the X-Men.
Anairis Quinones voices Carmilla Black, Mac Gargan’s second in command. Just one episode prior, she voiced villain Maria Vasquez (aka Tarantula), so is making a habit of voicing female legacy villains on this series.
Speaking of returning baddies, Roger Craig Smith voices Dmitri Smerdyakov, better known as The Chameleon to comic book fans. Smith voiced Speed Demon last episode, and the coach of the football team the episode before that.
Travis Willingham voices Mikhail Sytsevich, who in the comics is the father of Aleksei Sytsevich, better known as The Rhino. You might know Willingham as the voice of Guile from the Street Fighter games, or Knuckles from the Sonic the Hedgehog games. Or perhaps — more likely — you know him as one of the cast members of Critical Role, as well as the CEO of the company.
Continuing our tour of superstar voice actors, Mila Masaryk is likely a genderbent Milos Masaryk, aka villain The Unicorn. But the person who voices Masaryk is even better known: Sarah Natochenny, who you likely have heard as the voice of Ash Ketchum in Pokémon.
And last but not least, Roxanna Volkov is an original character for the series, but is voiced by Kari Wahlgren — who also voices Aunt May.
