The Folio Society, a publisher known for their beautifully constructed hardcover books, is tackling the Man of Steel with DC: Superman. And we’ve got an exclusive look inside at one of the stories, “The Death of Superman,” from… 1961?

That’s right: back in the ’60s, DC published the original “Death of Superman” story in Superman #149, written by Jerry Siegel, with art by Curt Swan and George Klein, and cover art by Curt Swan and George Klein. You can check out the pages below, but that’s far from the only vintage, reproduced comic awaiting you in the 312-page deluxe hardcover.

Along with the aforementioned issue, you’ll also get stories by Joe Shuster, Marshall Rogers, Alan Moore, John Byrne, Dan Jurgens, Paul Dini, and Alex Ross; ranging from 1941’s “Fifth Columnists” to 1986’s classic “Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?” to 1999’s “Peace on Earth” by Paul Dini with art by Ross.

In addition to the stories selected and introduced by former DC President, Publisher, and EIC Jenette Kahn, you’ll also get a new foreword by Marjorie Liu.

Check out the excerpt below, and DC: Superman is now available in bookstores everywhere.
