DC Comics April 2025 Solicit Highlights:

DC Comics April solicits are here, teasing what’s coming next for the publisher.

Summer kicks off early for DC Comics with the Summer of Superman Special, a 48-page spectacular teasing what’s coming up for the Man of Steel. There’s also Superman #25, another over-sized issue returning Lex Luthor as the big bad. And in Action Comics #1085, G. Willow Wilson and Gavin Guidry begin a two-part wrap-up of the “Superman Superstars” program.

Meanwhile, the Absolute Universe is picking up in a big way in April. Absolute Green Lantern debuts from Al Ewing and Jahnoy Lindsay. Absolute Superman #6 finally heads over to Smallville. Marcos Martín takes over art duties on Absolute Batman for a two-part arc focusing on Mister Freeze. Absolute Wonder Woman introduces a “L’il Diana” backup story with art by Dustin Nguyen. And Absolute Flash and Absolute Martian Manhunter continue with second issues of those titles.

There’s lots more going on at DC Comics, though, with the first big crossover of the DC All In era, titled “We Are Yesterday.” Reintroducing the Legion of Doom, the six-part story will be written by Mark Waid, and run through Batman/Superman: World’s Finest, Justice League Unlimited, and the World’s Finest Annual, to be concluded in May.

Other highlights? Question: All Along The Watchtower ends with issue #6, as does Black Canary: Best of the Best. Wonder Woman #20 kicks off a new storyline with a murder mystery on Mount Olympus. Harley Quinn celebrates issue #50 by introducing new characters, the Gunbuddies. The Power Company: Recharged is a one-shot bringing back the classic superhero team. Fire & Ice: When Hell Freezes Over finds the dynamic duo switching bodies. Resurrection Man: Quantum Karma brings back the weird hero from Ram V. And Batman #159 continues the return of Hush by Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee.

For Comic Book Club News, I’m Alex Zalben. And I believe Summer starts in June, but I’ll let this one slide.
