Something is Killing the Children has been on hiatus since August, but it’s coming back in the big way this April from BOOM! Studios for a new arc starting with Something is Killing the Children #41. And get your tissues ready for this one.
“I could not be more excited to return to tell the next chapter of Erica’s origin story,” said Eisner-winning co-creator James Tynion IV via press release. “Earning her teeth in the field, Erica will have to grow up fast to grow up at all — and a big part of that will be learning that adults have their own fatal flaws, including her mentor Jessica. Something is Killing the Children readers know, this is not a story with a happy ending. But it’s a story that needs to be told.”
Picking up after the Year Zero arc, Something is Killing the Children #41 will continue the deep dive into Erica Slaughter’s past as we find her being raised — and trained by her mentor, Jessica. meanwhile, we’ll also get more of a look at Cecilia, who may pose a bigger challenge for our hero.
“I know where Erica ends up, as much as we all do, and yet I can’t wait to tell this story! Get ready for some crying!” added series artist and co-creator Werther Dell’Edera.
Something is Killing the Children #41 features covers by Dell’Edera, Jenny Frison, Miguel Mercado, Anwita Citriya, and Tula Lotay. It hits stores on April 2, 2025.
