Generally speaking, Dracula isn’t the sort of guy to go out and eat a hearty meal at midday. But that will all change with Oni Press‘s new all-ages graphic novel, Dracula’s Brunch Club.
Written by Brian Gonsar, with art by Keenan Gaybba, the new book will also include a forward by Kevin Jonas of the Jonas Brothers. For some reason.
“I was always envious of the kids who carried around Goosebumps or other scary stories,” said Gonsar via press release. “I wanted to read them too, but I didn’t love being scared. This book is here to remedy that. It’s a comedy in a spooky wrapper and manages to keep even the most intense situations light. A perfect combo for kids who want scary stories, but not actually to be scared.”
In the graphic novel, Dracula is a regular vampire except for one thing: he’s great at baking. And his brunch club features “famous blood-orange-jelly donuts that give his fellow vampires the energy source they need to live forever.” Unfortunately, Transylvania suffers from a jelly shortage, which allows Dracula’s arch-enemy Constantine to steal his brunch club.
Dracula’s Brunch Club hits stores in September, but you can check out a preview below.
