Harley Quinn Season 5, Episode 2 Voice Cast: Who’s Who, From Jason Woodrue to Pippa Middleton

Jason Woodrue and Pamela Isley in Harley Quinn Season 5 Episode 2

Now that the premise has been established — moving to Metropolis — Harley Quinn Season 5, Episode 2, “Back to School” is off to the races with a violent, profane episode that dives pretty deeply into Poison Ivy’s backstory. And with that in mind, you might be wondering who’s who in the Harley Quinn Season 5, Episode 2 voice cast.

We’ll get to that in a second, but first a recap of the episode so you know what’s what, before you know who’s who. Spoilers past this point. Pretty much as soon as Harley and Ivy have moved into their new place in Metropolis, who shows up? King Shark. He’s busy, and needs to drop off his litter of baby sharks (no relation) in the meantime. And Ivy is no help, because she has her first day working for Lena Luthor’s green Metropolis initiative.

Who else is working at the initiative? None other than Jason Woodrue, who we find out in flashbacks is crucial to Ivy’s backstory. Pamela Isley was a brilliant student working in his lab back in the day, and also sleeping with him. She developed a quantum leap forward in science: Baby Frank the Plant, which Woodrue immediately covets. He’s hit a brick wall in his research and decides to leave Ivy to die while he takes credit for Baby Frank. However, using a revolutionary formula she developed, along with the dose of poison gas, she becomes… Poison Ivy.

Back in the present, an enraged Ivy lures the older Woodrue to the lab and proceeds to give him the same chance she had… Meaning, good luck with the poison gas, Woodrue. “Pamela, please!” he begs. Her answer? “It’s Poison Ivy.”

Meanwhile, Harley is stuck babysitting the sharks who are eating everything in their new apartment, when Lena Luthor calls to invite her to a party at an elite club. Turns out it’s Goldilocks’s birthday… If you missed Kite Man: Hell Yeah!, Bane is now officially together with Betty, the dominatrix he met in the A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day Special, and also they live in Metropolis.

Harley decides to get the status she wants, she’s going to join the Vincent Edge Club, too. Only problem, the shark babies are eating everyone and everything, and even with a rambling entreaty to Vincent Edge, she can’t seal the deal. So instead, when animal control shows up she goes into mama bear mode and protects the sharks with pool noodles. She’s chosen a side, and it doesn’t include the now mangled, pretty bad Pippa Middleton impersonator who was hired for the birthday party.

…But Lena welcomes Harley and Ivy to the club anyway, and as the duo relax in bed later on, Ivy feels guilty about what happened with Jason. She shouldn’t, though because somehow, Woodrue has survived…

Harley Quinn Season 5, Episode 2 “Back To School” Cast: Who’s Who In The Voice Cast?

Harley and sharks in Harley Quinn Season 5 Episode 2

We won’t recap all the major players who return — you can check out previous voice cast breakdowns for that. However, after an episode away it is nice to see Bane back, voiced by James Adomian. He also voices Vincent Edge, and the Animal Control Officer.

Also back this episode is Ron Funches as King Shark, the role he’s played in the past four seasons. And Kimberly Brooks voices his ADD son, Shaun Shark. Brooks has portrayed dozens of voice on TV and in video games, but fans may know her best as the voice of Barbara Gordon from the Arkham video game series.

If you recognized the buttery smooth tones of Jason Woodrue from Mad Men, you were indeed correct: the bad scientist is played by John Slattery. The award-winning actor is also a crucial part of the Marvel Universe as the older Howard Stark, aka Tony’s father.

JB Smoove, in an amazing stretch, plays Baby Frank the Plant this episode after previously playing the constantly cursing Frank the Plant in previous seasons.

Casey Wilson returns as the voice of Betty this episode. Wilson is probably best known for the late, great sitcom Happy Endings, or her brief stint on SNL. She’s also co-host of the podcast Bitch Sesh.

Mary Deaton is the voice of the truly awful Pippa Middleton impersonator (to be clear, Deaton is probably great, it’s the impersonation that’s bad). She previously did voice in Leo and Thelma The Unicorn.

And last but not least, Carla Delaney returns as the voice of love-her-or-hate-her Goldilocks, as well as the voice of “Old Lady.” She previously played the voice of Goldilocks on Kite Man: Hell Yeah! and has also done voice in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Sausage Party: Foodtopia, and more.
