GLAAD has announced the nominees for this years’ 36th annual Media Awards, including comics from Marvel, DC, and more.
Presented yearly to, “recognize and honor media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community and the issues that affect their lives,” per the org’s website, this year’s nominations include favorites such as The Nice House by the Sea and Poison Ivy from DC Comics, NYX and Captain Marvel from Marvel, and BOOM! Studios I Heart Skull-Crusher, DSTLRY’s Spectregraph, and many more.
On the graphic novel list, titles include Bad Dream: A Dreamer Story from DC, Becoming Who We Are: Real Stories About Growing Up Trans from A Wave Blue World, and others.
In addition to the comic and graphic novel categories, GLAAD also honors everything from films and TV shows to podcasts. Marvel’s Agatha All Along was nominated for Outstanding New Series, while Heartstopper was nominated for Outstanding Kids & Family Programming or Film – Live Action, and Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur was nominated in the animated category.
