Have you ever wanted to walk a mile in Batman’s shoes? Sure the terrain of Gotham City might be harrowing and dangerous, at best. But if you’re rocking the show in Cat Footwear’s “Built for the Knight” collection, you’ll feel just like the Dark Knight. Or at least, have on some extremely cool footwear that’s packed to the brim with Batman Easter eggs.
The new line of shoes, which launched on January 16, includes two different items of footwear: the Colorado Grader; and the Intruder Galosh. The former has an MSRP (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price) of $159.95, and the latter has an MSRP of $134.95. Both feature “comic strip lining, custom Batman lace fob and printed Bat emblem,” per PR provided to Comic Book Club. And both come in Men’s sizing only. However, that’s only the beginning of what you can expect from these shoes.
I was provided with a pair of the Colorado Graders to test, which have sold out in record time (the Intruder Galosh is still available), and let me tell you: I geeked out hard about these boots. First and foremost, they are A) comfortable to wear, and B) extremely solid. If you’re looking to walk around feeling like Battinson (aka Robert Pattinson as Batman), then these are the shoes for you.

The bulk of the shoe is a really lovely mix of yellow and brownish-gray, making it look like the bat-signal shining in the sky on a foggy Gotham City night. And while not exactly subtle, there’s a small “Batman” logo on one, a Bat symbol on the other, and both have the Bat symbol on the bottom of the laces, as well. They also come packaged with yellow/black laces, too, if you want to get mildly ostentatious.
But the geeky surprise waits inside the boot. While the literature teased “comic strip lining,” which is black and white looks at classic Batman comic books, the inside soles of the shoes include all the movie Batman logos, ranging from Batman ’66, to The Batman, to Batman Returns, to even the Batfleck logo. Basically, if you’re a Batman fan, it’s like having a delightful little secret at the bottom of your feet while you’re walking. And what could be more Batman than having secrets?
Basically, I love these boots and can’t wait to very casually put my foot on the counter at my local comic book shop today, and say, “oh, these? They’re my Batman boots. Swear to me.”
Meanwhile, the Intruder Galosh looks pretty sweet as well, with a sleek yellow line on a black sneaker, and the aforementioned secrets inside. It’s also still available for purchase, which probably makes it a little more attractive than the Colorado Graders (though my preference is more for those wonderful boots). You can check out more info about them, as well as where to purchase, at the Cat Footwear website.
Now, Cat, how about a women’s wear line inspired by Batwoman and/or Batgirl, huh? Make it happen!
