I’m never a big fan of when a movie plugs “from the twisted minds” because rarely, if ever, are those minds really that twisted. But here, it’s appropriate: from the Doug Wagner and Daniel Hillyard, the twisted minds that brought you Plastic, Plush, and Vinyl, comes their latest camp horror story: I Was a Fashion School Serial Killer.
“This may be the craziest, most quirky serial killer book Daniel and I have done yet,” said Wagner via press release. “We had the time of our lives working on this one. During our calls, there was way too much of drinks shooting out noses and asking, ‘Can we get away with that?’ We tend to think of those as signs that we’re on the right path.”
In the new Image Comics book, a young woman named Rennie has been accepted to NYC’s most prestigious fashion school. She just has one little quirk to her designs: they’re made out of human flesh. Because she’s a serial killer, who would really like to transition to fashion design full time. And honestly, who can’t relate to a career change?
“Sewing together serial killer horror and college drama felt so right—like slipping into a warm blood bath,” Hillyard added.
I Was a Fashion School Serial Killer #1 will feature covers by Hillyard, Hillyard and Michelle Madsen, and Jae Lee. It hits stores on April 2.
