The full release schedule for Marvel Studios’s Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man has been revealed by Disney, and the show will be over before you know it. Per the just-released streaming schedule for Disney+ in February, the season finale is on February 12 — less than a month after it premieres.
More specifically, here’s the full streaming schedule for the 10-episode animated series:
Wednesday, January 29: Episode 1 and 2
Wednesday, February 5: Episode 3, 4 and 5
Wednesday, February 12: Episode 7 and 8
Wednesday, February 19: Episode 9 and 10
So yes, this is different than, say, X-Men ’97, which premiered with two episodes before rolling out weekly for its 10-episode Freshman season. However, other releases have had different schedules: What If…? Seasons 2 and 3, for example, released daily over the holidays. And later this year, Eyes of Wakanda and Marvel Zombies are expected to release four episodes, all in the same day (though that’s TBA).
Another reason for the accelerated release schedule? The highly anticipated Daredevil: Born Again is hitting Disney+ on March 4, so this gives enough space to breathe between the two Marvel series.
…Or maybe they really are burning off the episodes of the show? Though given it already has a second-season commitment, it’s more likely there’s no grand conspiracy here, just an accelerated schedule of release. After all, he’s just doing whatever a spider can.
