After five agonizing months, Marvel Comics will reveal who is America’s Next Great Venom in All-New Venom #5.
Per a teaser from the publisher, “The clues have been given. The suspects have been weeded out. This April, Al Ewing and Carlos Gómez uncover the identity of Venom’s new host in ALL-NEW VENOM #5!”
That’s pretty much it, though the image provided does reveal Venom ripping his/her body open to reveal someone else inside. If you haven’t been reading the title, the suspects are Robbie Robertson, Luke Cage, Rick Jones, or Madame Masque. So far, it’s a toss-up between the four, though Eddie Brock’s son Dylan Brock — and spoilers past this point — decided that it wasn’t Luke Cage at the end of All-New Venom #2. The reason? Venom got shot in the head, and as we all know, Luke Cage famously has a head.
All-New Venom #5 will debut on April 2, written by Al Ewing, art by Carlos Gómez, with a cover by Adam Kubert. Place your bets now on who is inside the suit when it’s all said and done. My money is still on Luke Cage, but I also thought New York Mayor Eric Adams was a Venom, too, and I might be wrong about that one.
