This is Comic Book Club News for January 14, 2025.

Mark Russell, Mike Allred, And Laura Allred To Complete DC Trilogy With Wonder Woman:

Mark Russell, Mike Allred, and Laura Allred have already delivered two stand-out series with DC Comics Superman: Space Age, and Batman: Dark Age. And now they’ll complete the trilogy with an upcoming book focused on Wonder Woman.

The news was revealed to Comic Book Club when we caught up with the writer on the con floor at Fan Expo New Orleans. While discussing the two previous series, he revealed that there’s a third book coming.

“Already working on it… Hasn’t been announced yet, so sort of a scoop. But yeah, Mike and Laura and I are doing a Wonder Woman to end the trilogy.”

The first book focused on Superman from 1963 to 1985, leading up to the classic Crisis on Infinite Earths, and Batman: Dark Age did the same. While the first series front-loaded the ’60s, and the second delved into the ’70s, presumably the new series could move the action forward to the ’80s.

No other details were shared on the book, but with the first out in 2022, and second this past year, expect the concluding chapter to hit stores possibly some time in 2026.

Mad Cave Launching LA Fire Charity Comic:

Mad Cave Studios is launching a charity anthology to support relief efforts to aid comic book creators displaced by the LA fires.

Per the company, LA Strong will feature “contributions by prominent artists and writers from the comic book community.  Each piece will commemorate Los Angeles, celebrating the city’s spirit and resilience.”

Though there were no further details offered at this time, including creators involved or release date — art accompanying the release was from artist Andrea Mutti’s work on Charred Remains, a Mad Cave book from 2023 — the publisher added they are “committed to moving swiftly as it is vital to provide relief and ensure our collective efforts support our peers.”

Zoe Thorogood Teases Next Book, Head Trauma:

Zoe Thorogood, creator of It’s Lonely at the Centre of the Earth, is teasing her next book, titled Head Trauma.

Via SKTCHD, the new comic will focus on teens with pretty terrible superpowers. Said Thorogood, “(Head Trauma) follows a guy named Damien whose intrusive thoughts start manifesting themselves into reality- largely in the form of accidentally exploding people’s heads.. the story is narrated by his 7 year old half sister Ellie- she’s autistic, loves bugs, and aspires to be Elton John when she grows up. The chaos brings the two on an explosive road trip in an attempt to find answers and escape the bloody trail they’re leaving behind.”

While no further details were offered at this time, Thorogood’s work is always a must-read, so look forward to Head Trauma, coming some time.
