DC Comics‘s classic The Power Company is coming back in a big way this year with a focus in this year’s DC Power special, and a one-shot titled The Power Company: Recharged that will present a new lineup for the team.
Spinning out of the events of Black Lightning, the January 29 debuting DC Power: Rise of the Power Company features a two-part prelude story by writer Brandon Thomas, and artists Charles Stewart III, Anthony Fowler Jr., and Ulises Arreola. Focusing on metahuman Josiah Power, the former leader of the Power Company realizes it’s time to bring the team back, with Black Lightning front and center. Meanwhile, Amanda Waller’s disinfo campaign from Absolute Power is still sowing mistrust throughout the DC Universe.

While that’s going on, the 32-page special will also feature stories about other heroes: Vixen and Bolt; Cyborg and Green Lantern Jo Mullein; and Jace Fox and Duke Thomas.
The Vixen and Bolt story titled “Ring of Power” is by Zipporah Smith, with art by Kelsey Ramsay and Francesco Segala. In it, the heroes team up to “battle anti-metahuman sentiment in a hospital where citizens are getting treated for emerging abilities.”

Then in “Unfinished Business” by John Jennings, with art by Caanan White, Atagun Ilhan, and Andrew Dalhouse, Cyborg and Jo face off against Despero.

And last but not least, Vita Ayala and artists Ray-Anthony Height and Chris Sotomayor team up Jace Fox and Duke Thomas to “fight crime, drink ginger beer, and play Spades on the mean streets of New York” in “Dynamic Duo.”

This will all lead up to The Power Company: Recharged, written by Bryan Edward Hill, with art by Khary Randolph and Alitha Martinez. In it, the new Power Company — including Josiah Power, Black Lightning, Jace Fox (aka Batman), The Signal, and Vixen — will, per PR from DC, “not only rebuild humanity’s faith in heroes and fight against the rising tide of anti-metahuman hate but stop a serial killer targeting metahumans in the streets of Atlanta.”
The one-shot will feature covers by Edwin Galmon, Ryan Benjamin, Sanford Greene, and Paris Alleyne, and will hit stores on April 30. Check out the covers below, and click for larger versions.

But wait, that’s not all! Here are covers for DC Power: Rise of the Power Company #1 by Khary Randolph and Emilio Lopez, Alitha Martinez (with Mark Morales and Andrew Dalhouse), Davi Go, and Valentine De Landro.
