DC Comics Brings Back Resurrection Man For New Series:

Per his name, you can’t keep a good Resurrection Man down. And writer Ram V and artist Anand RK are bringing him back to DC Comics with the six-issue series Resurrection Man: Quantum Karma.

Per Polygon, the series focuses on Mitch Shelley, a man who comes back from the dead each time with a new superpower. This time? His power is saving the world. Said DC via press release, “This version of Resurrection Man must battle across time and space against a sadistic Word War II internment camp captain who has inherited a twisted version of Shelley’s abilities. As the lines of cosmic order begin to blur, Mitch Shelley will literally die to save the universe, more than once.”

Resurrection Man co-creator Jackson “Butch” Guice will return to draw a one-page recap per issue for the new series, which will hit stores on April 2.

Mattel And Tokyopop Team Up For Barbie And Hot Wheels Manga:

Mattel and Tokyopop are teaming up do develop manga-style graphic novels based on Hot Wheels and Barbie.

While there were no specific details about the creative teams behind these books provided via press release from the companies, they did note that, “The first titles, including a western-style manga graphic novel series inspired by Hot Wheels and new stories featuring characters from Barbie, are set to debut in print in 2026. These series will feature fresh artwork and original stories, bringing the cherished brands to new audiences in innovative formats.”

Also of note, the age range will be 8-12, and expands on Mattel’s print ambitions thanks to a deal made last year with Simon & Schuster.

More on this as it develops.

Dog Man Gets A Pre-Movie Party At The Library Of Congress:

Before the big Dog Man movie hits theaters, creator Dav Pilkey is throwing a Hero Party at the Library of Congress.

Per The Beat, the party will be held Wednesday, January 29, with Pilkey discussing Dog Man: Big Jim Begins, the latest book in the series, holding a meet-and-greet with fans, a sneak peek at the movie, photos with costumed characters, a create-your-own comics station, and congressional librarians telling people to shush, constantly. Just kidding about that last one.

The party will be held from 5:30-8:30 pm at the Library of Congress, and though the event is free, tickets are required to attend.
