Want to win free tickets to see Captain America: Brave New World this February? And what if I told you, to sweeten the pot a bit, you’ll get stained at the screening, thanks to Tide? Well, that’s exactly what will happen at Tide’s 5D “Collateral Stains Screening,” which you can enter to win a ticket to, right now.
Look, you may have a few questions here, and I certainly do as well. But first, the details. While Captain America: Brave New World won’t premiere until February 14, Tide is celebrating the launch of their Tide Ultra Oxi Boost Power PODS with a screening the day before, on Thursday, February 13.
Held in New York, the screening will be a 4D screening, i.e., all the shaking of the seat, spraying with water, smells, and extras that come with your regular 4D screening. However, Tide is touting that, pr PR provided to Comic Book Club, “those that attend will literally get collateral stained.” The company will then have these new Tide PODS on hand to get the stains out when you get home.
To win tickets, you need to comment on one of Tide’s Instagram posts using the hashtag #TideSweeps for a chance to win. There’s also more info here: www.Tide.com/CollateralStainScreening.
…But if you’re anything like me, you’re probably wondering what collateral stains are? And how does one get collateral stained? Unfortunately, I have no concrete answers for you on this. I did reach out to a rep for Tide to see if this is a regular 4D screening where they hand out Tide PODS at the end, or if they’re throwing barbecue sauce on you or something throughout the screening, and they provided a semi-vague answer for fear of spoilers. “We can’t share the exact collateral stains — because spoilers – but, attendees will definitely feel the 5D,” the rep told us. “They’re going to smell the stains and they’re definitely going to feel them. They’ll feel like they were caught in the middle of an avenging fight.”
It’s tough to wrap my mind around what could happen in Brave New World that could cause stains… Does Red Hulk (Harrison Ford) possibly mash Captain America (Anthony Mackie) to smithereens so you get sprayed with red dye or ketchup? Perhaps Tiamut, the giant Celestial sticking out of the ocean, is slimy with seaweed, and you get rubbed down with wet seaweed (soothing, actually)?
