The Uncanny Experience, an immersive X-Men fan event held for the past two years, is evolving. As just announced, this July’s 3rd annual event will celebrate the 25th anniversary of X-Men: Evolution, with a reunion featuring cast and crew.
First debuting on Kids WB in 2000, the series ran 52 episodes and has built a fan and cult following for its remixed take on the iconic Marvel Comics characters. Though it’s perhaps best known at this point for introducing the character X-23, the female clone of Wolverine, fans also go gaga for the relationship between Rogue and Kitty Pryde. And if you are fans, great news: this year’s Uncanny Experience will be attended by Meghan Black, the voice of Rogue, and Maggie Blue O’Hara, the voice of Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat. In addition, Director and Character Designer Steven E. Gordon will be in attendance, with other guests TBA.
Held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, this year’s fan experience will be held July 12-13, and will once again transform the Minneapolis Club into Xavier’s Institute for, per PR provided to Comic Book Club, “classes on mutant culture, exploring the campus with rooms decorated as character bedrooms, unraveling clues in the Mystery in the Mansion quest, being initiated into the Hellfire Club, and celebrating the mutant community.”
Previous year’s guests have included Chris Claremont, Gail Simone, and cast-members from X-Men ’97, among others. Tickets will be on sale soon, though you can text UNCANNY to 612-409-7073 or sign up for the newsletter to be alerted when they can be purchased. Ticket levels include General Admission, VIP (which grants early access, free admission to the After Party, and more), and “Omega Level,” which gives you mutant powers in real life. Just kidding.
