Every Future Marvel Event Teased By ‘Timeslide’ #1

Timeslide teaser crop

Today in comic book stores everywhere (unless they’re closed for Christmas), Marvel has released their annual tease to the future with Timeslide #1. Written by Steve Foxe with art by Ivan Fiorelli, the over-sized issue sends Bishop and Cable on a mission to save mutants from being erased from the timestream, and in the process, we get a TON of teases for what may be to come over the next year and change from Marvel Comics.

The key here is “may be,” as publishing plans change, and even in the book they clarify that time is malleable. Unlike previous year’s specials like Timeless, though, there isn’t just your classic “look at these panels from future comics” page, which was previously teased by Marvel a few months prior… There’s a second page that seems to list the titles of nearly a dozen upcoming Marvel events. And then third and fourth pages which include even more teases.

With that in mind, we’re going to break down everything teased in the issue — and what we know about the events, so far. Spoilers past this point, obviously.

Let’s start with the previously released page, which features Bishop getting dragged through time by the mutant Tempus. She explains that “time is fraying” thanks to a new villain named Vacuna. Created by The Children, the hyper-advanced baddies Cable and Bishop beat previously, Vacuna sucks out moments from the time stream, and is eliminating key moments from the X-Men’s history.

More to the point, the now unredacted page features a look at a number of heroes and villains. If you’re reading the issue, we’ll start at the top right and work across. If you’re not… Well, doesn’t matter, read on.

  • Revelation: This is the new form of Doug Ramsey, aka Cypher, who became the heir of Apocalypse in the series of the same name. Where he’ll show up next is TBA.
  • Moon Squire: The teen sidekick version of Moon Knight is a main cast member in the upcoming New Champions series.
  • Dormammu: Classic Doctor Strange villain, again where he’ll show up is TBA.
  • Emperor Doom: Doctor Doom is pictured wearing his Sorcerer Supreme getup. He’ll be the main baddie of the Marvel Universe in the One World Under Doom event.
  • Power Man: First seen in last year’s Timeless special, the Luke Cage with Iron Fist, Hulk, Sentry, and other powers is now in “our” time, and will be featured in the Power Man: Timeless series coming in 2025.
  • Spider-Man In Doom Armor: To Bishop’s right (our left) is Spider-Man in his Doom-powered armor, the one he’s currently wearing to fight the Scions of Cyttorak in the “8 Deaths of Spider-Man” storyline in Amazing Spider-Man.
  • The Thing: Then there’s The Thing getting his rocks off. Literally. He’ll be cured by Doctor Doom in One World Under Doom #2, leading to a new status quo for the Fantastic Four.
  • Ellie: Deadpool’s daughter, who is now also Deadpool.
  • Riri Williams: That’s her, aka Ironheart, but where she’ll show up is TBA
  • Sabertooth: Wolverine’s arch-enemy is currently dead, though featured in the series Sabertooth: The Dead Don’t Talk, which also hit stores today.
  • Cable: Hey, he’s in this comic! He’ll also be featured in Cable: Love and Chrome, which hits stores next year.
  • Venomouse? Though I’m not 100% sure of this, the little Venom pictured to Tempus’s left (our right) is likely Venomouse, a mouse version of Venom who will be introduced in Web of Venomverse #1.
  • The Five And The Egg: More on this below, but we see Elixir, Hope Summers, and Proteus, three of the Krakoa era’s The Five, who were in charge of mutant resurrection, around an egg.
  • World War Hulk? This certainly looks like the World War Hulk version of the character. Will we return to World War Hulk? Maybe!
  • She-Hulk: She exists! TBA what this tease has to do with anything.

Okay, so that’s the teaser page that was mostly previously released. But the bigger page comes later in the issue when Bishop and Cable end up in the future, in Washington D.C. There they discover a world taken over by Revelation, who we find out rounded up all the time travelers with his Four Horsemen, courtesy of a grown-up Bronze (a character introduced over in Exceptional X-Men).

She puts up a huge list of “everything that led to this mess” and asks Bishop and Cable to help. They can’t, they’ve got other things to do. But we don’t! So let’s get into it.

  • The Eight Deaths: This is the currently running “8 Deaths of Spider-Man” storyline in Amazing Spider-Man.
  • One World Under Doom: A nine-part event series and status quo where Doom takes over the world, starting next year.
  • Rise of the New Champions: As mentioned, there’s a New Champions series debuting next year, featuring sidekick versions of the characters you know and love.
  • The Eternal Storm: This is a tease for Storm #5, which finds “the Eternal Storm” stuck in a battle between cosmic entities Eternity and Oblivion.
  • The False Metal: Not sure about this one!
  • Who Waits Within The Last Egg? As noted above, seems like there may be one last mutant egg to hatch left over from the Krakoan era. With Hope Summers dead, not sure how they’ll bring it back, but seems like a storyline interesting to pick up on.
  • Strange of Asgard: Doctor Strange of Asgard is a new series that finds the title character in the title location.
  • Galactic Leaders Assassinated: Seems pretty self-explanatory, but could it have anything to do with Jonathan Hickman’s upcoming series Imperial?
  • The Time Of Strife: This isn’t spelled with a “y” but I’m gonna hold out hope ya sharp boy Stryfe is back somehow.
  • Dormammu Invasion of Earth: Again, self-explanatory, and also helps explain why Dormammu’s head was featured, as noted above.
  • Ms. Marvel – Second Genesis: Somewhat educated guess here, but this could be one of two things (or both). Earlier in the issue, we see Ms. Marvel on the X-Men back during the Dark Phoenix saga. Rather than an “Oops time is breaking” goof, perhaps this actually happens, and Kamala ends up tripping through the X-Men’s greatest hits. Alternately, we may see her finally get her full mutant powers.
  • Ultimate Incursion: Looks like we may have the name for 2025’s Ultimate Universe event, which likely finds The Maker returning to reign havoc on the universe. Alternately, given the “incursion” inclusion, and the fact that Ultimate Wolverine shows up in the book later (more on that in a sec), could the Ultimate Universe encroach on the Marvel 616 universe — again?
  • Who Is The Man With The Hammer? I don’t know, who is he?
  • The Ghost Fist Walks! Ghost Rider Iron Fist? All I know is he’s walkin’, here.
  • Where Is Spider-Man? I don’t know, where is he?
  • What Became Of Emily Bright? This is likely a follow-up to Strange Academy: Finals, which found Emily Bright, a disciple of Dormammu, leaving via a portal. She hasn’t been seen since, so where is she?
  • The Will Of Doom: This is either his strong will, or perhaps… The will he leaves after dying at the end of One World Under Doom.
  • Utgard Rises: Over in Immortal Thor we’ve been getting primal versions of the gods, so likely this is following up on that.
  • Age of Revelation: This is likely the event Bronze is trying to prevent, a riff on Age of Apocalypse.
  • Beware The Spider-… This is blocked by Cable’s head, but could be “Spider-Web” or “Spider-Verse.” On the latter, it’s likely something having to do with the upcoming Spider-Verse vs. Venomverse event.
  • Who Would Trade Away Immortality? I don’t know, who would?
  • XvX: This is likely a riff on Avengers vs. X-Men, aka AvX. We’re seeing two X-Men teams trading blows in the “Raid on Graymalkin” crossover, but perhaps a bigger battle is coming.
  • 3K Gene Bomb: This is the storyline that has been teased out in X-Men, so likely has something to do with that.

There’s another page to talk about, when Tempus shows up to help Cable and Bishop take down Vacuna. When that happens, we see fractured time again with a few characters:

  • Ultimate Wolverine: New series, coming next year!
  • Phoenix: Ongoing series!
  • Laura Kinney: Laura Kinney: The Wolverine #1, now in stores!
  • Mojo: Big bad over in NYX.
  • Daredevil: Elektra version, getting a new Red Band series next year.
  • Tank: Big mystery character over in X-Force.

And at the end, when they beat Vacuna, the bad guy spews all the time he ate back into the timestream. That includes classic moments like the Dark Phoenix saga, and previously mentioned teases like Emperor Doom and more. But it also includes even more teases. So here are a few highlights:

  • Wolf Pack: Here we see what looks like Cap-Wolf, Werewolf By Night, and Rahne Sinclair teamed up in some sort of Wolf Pack.
  • Red Hulk And Machine Man: They’ll be teamed up in the upcoming Red Hulk series.
  • Madcap: The supervillain is actually seen twice here, once on his own, and once as part of…
  • The Intelligencia Returns? Mad Thinker is leading a group of four shadowy figures right below the panel of Madcap. But if you flip to the end you see the group will be showing up in April’s Avengers #25. The lineup also seems to include Mr. Hyde, Oubliette Midas, and some guy in armor I can’t recognize (sorry).

So there you go! A slew of teases that may show up in 2025 — or maybe not. Stay tuned, true believers!
