‘I Hate Fairyland’ Celebrates 10 Years This Free Comic Book Day

Gert, the star of Skottie Young’s I Hate Fairyland may be eternally young — but the series isn’t. In 2025 the series will be celebrating its 10th anniversary… And that all kicks off in Image Comics‘s Free Comic Book Day special.

“Wow. 10 years? I can’t believe you let me get away with this for that long! I love it! You’re stuck with Gert now,” said Young via press release. “She’s never going away!!!!”

In the new special, per PR, “Young takes a stroll down memory lane providing behind-the-scenes commentary as he revisits various iconic and beloved Fairyland kingdoms—and some of Gert’s most infamous stomping (literal) grounds.”

Not only that, but the one-shot will also have a sneak peek at what’s coming up next in I Hate Fairyland.
