On today’s episode, we’re taking a look at some of the highlights from the Marvel March 2025 solicits, including One World Under Doom, Ultimate Universe, and much more
This is Comic Book Club News for December 20, 2024.
Marvel March 2025 Solicit Highlights:
Time to put away your holiday decorations and start thinking about early Spring, as Marvel has revealed its solicits for March, 2025.
Kicking things off is Godzilla vs. Fantastic Four #1, the first of six one-shots mashing up the king of the monsters as the Marvel Universe. This one comes from Ryan North and John Romita, Jr., and takes place in the 1960s.
Speaking of Fantastic Four, the One World Under Doom event continues to take over Marvel as Doom cures Ben Grimm of being The Thing. The event also spills into seven other titles, so lots of Doom to go around. And at the same time, a The Thing miniseries launches from Tony Fleecs and Leonard Kirk, with regular-style, non-cured Thing.
That’s not the only event in March, though, as X-Manhunt finds Professor X on the run through eight issues of X-Men comics, all released over the course of one month. And there are even more events as anthology title Web of Spider-Verse begins the march (no pun intended) to the Spider-Verse vs Venomverse event.
In non-event news, Ghost Rider gets another reboot with Spirits of Violence from Sabir Pirzada and Paul Davidson, introducing, per the title, a new spirit, not of vengeance, but of violence. Wolverine #7 includes a curious note in the solicit stating, “collectors’ note: a key appearance is contained in this issue.” Phoenix #9 also includes a note that teases, “don’t miss this must-read issue – as the Phoenix rises to new power and prominence in the galaxy.”
Over in the Ultimate Universe, Ultimate Wolverine #3 introduces Ultimate Kitty Pryde and Ultimate Gambit. Ultimate Sandman shows up in Ultimate Spider-Man #15. And Ultimates #10 introduces Namor and the Red Skull Gang, the latter of which seem to have the Punisher symbol for their insignia.
And back in the regular universe, Spider-Man dies and then becomes the Juggernaut, wrapping up the “Eight Deaths of Spider-Man” storyline. The Champions take on the New Champions in New Champions #3. And the Deadpool Corps return as the Pooluminati in a new title by that very name.
