The first footage from Superman is here, and its a thrilling, quick tease of the trailer debuting tomorrow. But in it, we get our first looks at Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan), the Daily Planet staff, and Superman (David Corenswet) in flight.
Posted on multiple social media platforms, the footage follows up on the motion poster and even briefer bit of footage posted yesterday (December 18). In that, the poster was accompanied by a haunting, choral version of John Williams’s iconic score for the 1978 Superman. And the same is here, over scenes of the cast and assorted residents of Metropolis, per the tagline, looking up to see Superman soar up, up and away.
While none of the plot of the movie is present in the teaser for the trailer, we do get to see Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, and Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen. Other Daily Planet cast members include Wendell Pierce as Perry White, and Christopher McDonald as Ron Troupe.
You can check out the brief footage below, and speculate wildly about whether the trailer will show off any of the other superheroes and villains in the movie; or if it’ll be more of a “tone” trailer like these initial bits of footage.
Superman will premiere July 11, 2025. The full trailer debuts tomorrow, December 19, at 9am ET.
