Kraven the Hunter, the latest — and perhaps last — movie in Sony’s Universe Of Spider-Man Movies That Have Spiders In Them, But Not Spider-Man (SUoSMMTHSITBNSM), is now in theaters. And given it’s a two hour slog (objectively speaking here), you may be wondering whether you can sneak out of the theater as soon as possible. Or perhaps you’re just wondering if Kraven the Hunter has an end credits scene? Or a mid-credits scene, or post-credits scene or what have you.
The answer? No, there is no end credits scene in Kraven the Hunter. Once Kraven — spoilers past this point — gets a lion vest from his father and sits on a chair like the poster of the movie or that one Amazing Spider-Man cover, it’s all over.
…Or is it? There actually is something after the credits of Kraven the Hunter, so let’s get into it.
What Happens After The Credits Of Kraven The Hunter? The Post-Credits For Kraven The Hunter, Explained
As soon as the credits finished on the movie, two guys came into the theater to clean things up. Nothing against them, there wasn’t a lot to clean up since there were only six of us in the theater watching Kraven the Hunter at 2pm ET on a Thursday. But as they cleaned, they asked the one guy other than me who had sat through the entire credits to see if there was an end credits scene (there isn’t) what we watched. He answered Kraven the Hunter, which was the truth, as embarrassing as it was. Then they asked “how was it?”
The guy proceeded to say it was “bad” but not as bad as Madame Web, and better than Morbius, but also Venom wasn’t that good (I’m assuming he was talking about Venom 3). I didn’t wait around to find out where he ranked the latest Venom movie against Kraven the Hunter, and instead buttoned up my coat and walked outside.
The air had a snappy chill to it, and I could see the bus two blocks away. I was out of the movie theater. I was about to go home. And other than knowing I was going to write an article titled “Does Kraven the Hunter Have An End Credits Scene?” I knew that very soon I would never have to think about Kraven the Hunter, ever again.
So when you ask me what is after the credits for Kraven the Hunter? Life, my friend. The rest of your goddamn life, free from the shackles of watching an excruciatingly boring slog of a movie. And perhaps if we’re lucky, the other thing you’ll find after the end credits of Kraven the Hunter is no more Sony/Marvel movies. Ever. No more nonsensical plots. No more set-ups for future characters nobody cares about and movies that will go nowhere. And no more attempts to force a superhero universe out of the concept of “what if animal blood fell inside of a person, and also there were some spiders around sometimes?”
Freedom. That’s what waits after the credits for Kraven the Hunter. Pure, beautiful freedom.
