‘Creature Commandos’ Episode 4 Stills Tease Weasel’s Dark Origin

Creature Commandos Episode 3, “Cheers to the Tin Man,” just premiered on Max. But we’re already getting a look at next week’s episode, Episode 4, “Chasing Squirrels” thanks to some official stills. And it looks like we’re about to explore Weasel’s (Sean Gunn) dark origin.

The feral character was first introduced in The Suicide Squad. And despite being an unrepentant child killer, fans loved him, and he managed to survive through to the end of the movie. Now, he’s back in Creature Commandos, and the show has been strongly hinting that Weasel’s background might not be as cut and dry as it seemed. Certainly, I wouldn’t put it past James Gunn to elicit sympathy for an animalistic character (see: three Guardians of the Galaxy movies).

And given we’ve already gotten backstories for The Bride (Indira Varma) and G.I. Robot (also Sean Gunn), it seems likely that “Chasing Squirrels” shows us what really happened back in the day with Weasel.

Back in the present day, the gang seems to be back in Belle Reve after taking down Circe (Anya Chalotra) in this week’s episode:

And after weeks of teasing (well, two weeks), it looks like Eric Frankenstein (David Harbour) comes crashing into the main plot, literally… As well as having a pleasant sit-down with Rick Flag Sr. (Frank Grillo).

How will it all connect? We’ll find out in seven short days.
