Looking to “engage” with next week’s Star Trek comics from IDW? Well, now you can “make it so” with Comic Book Club’s exclusive first look at the previews for Star Trek #27 and Star Trek: Lower Decks #2.
First up, in Lower Decks #2, things aren’t looking great for our lower deckers in this new title written by Ryan North with art by Derek Charm. After the disappearance of the bridge crew, they’re on an alien planet… That just happens to be occupied by a race Kirk and company clashed with back in the day. Will it lead to the titanic showdown seen on the cover? Stay tuned…
Then in Star Trek #27, not to crib from another franchise but Sisko and crew are lost in space thanks to a reality changing wave created by Lore that’s destroyed everything but the ship of the U.S.S. Theseus and its crew. The book comes from writers Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing, and artists Mike Feehan and Tess Fowler, and continues the march to next year’s massive Lore War event.
So what are you waiting for? “Punch it” and check out both Star Trek previews, below.
Star Trek: Lower Decks #2 Preview:
Mariner, T’Lyn, Rutherford, and Tendi have beamed off the mysterious USS Bonaventure and onto an equally mysterious surface of an unknown world, significantly raising the statistical likelihood of death and injury! Finally, the crew is up to their necks in adventure. There’s the senior staff’s safety to confirm, a weird planet to escape, and an alien race that wishes to learn more about mentorship… through a battle royale! Enter Jadzia Dax, Montgomery Scott, Kathyrn Janeway, T’Pol, and Jean-Luc Picard as the mentors and the Lower Deckers as the mentees. May the best student live!

Star Trek #27 Preview:
Lore’s destruction has consumed everything in the universe except the USS Theseus and the Celestial Temple. In one last maneuver, the crew uses every ounce of power left in their main systems to shoot their ship across the galaxy to the temple. While their ship flies, the crew has a Louisiana-style supper and heal wounds between them before they must say their final goodbyes, for Benjamin Sisko is of Bajor, and he must return home if Lore is to be stopped.
