In February, Marvel Comics will be celebrating Black History Month in a couple of different ways. There are the already revealed Star Wars variant covers. And now we’re getting our first look inside the month’s Marvel’s Voices one-shot, titled Storm: Lifedream.
Riffing off the title of the most iconic Storm story of all time (that would be “Lifedeath”), the book will find, per PR provided to Comic Book Club, “intergalactic historians attempt to update their records on Earth’s Mightiest Mutant—Ororo Munroe! As they dive into Storm’s rich history, they’ll find a woman too powerful to contain – and risk unleashing a side of her no one’s seen before. It’s a whirlwind journey across Storm’s key adventures and greatest feats as a malevolent entity threatens to corrupt her legacy!”
In advance of the release of the book, Marvel is providing covers, designs, and some sneak peeks at pages from the issue. The book itself is “spearheaded” by Marvel’s Voices creator Angélique Roché, and will include stories by Curtis Baxter, Brittney Morris, and John Jennings. Karen S. Darboe, Alitha Martinez, Edwin Galmon and Charles Stewart III will all provide art.
You can check out covers by Karen S. Darboe, Olivier Coipel, and Lucas Werneck below, as well as the art and designs. Storm: Lifedream #1 hits stores on January 29, 2024.
