It’s the last month of 2024, and Marvel Comics is going out strong with a slew of new titles for you to enjoy with your eyeballs. But with a ton coming out, what are our picks for the top 11 Marvel Comics for December 2024?
Wow, what a great question! From a crossover between X-Men titles, to an Ultimate Christmas celebration, this month has it all. Plus, there’s some Alien fun, a riff on the MCU, and much, much more. So check out our 11 picks below in chronological release order, and seasons readings!
1. X-Men #8

Release Date: December 4, 2024
Sure the X-Men have crossed over before. But not since July, when the line relaunched for the “From The Ashes” era. While this is no X-Tinction Agenda, this four-part crossover will run through X-Men and Uncanny X-Men, and seems to pivot Rogue and Cyclops as the new Professor X and Magneto, as, per the title, they both try to perform a “Raid on Graymalkin” Prison.
2. Ultimates #7

Release Date: December 4, 2024
This title is red hot, and only making more waves thanks to the twist in the last issue (spoiler, but one of the characters on the cover above is not currently alive). This issue kicks of a new arc, so could be a great jumping on point.
3. All-New Venom #1

Release Date: December 4, 2024
After the end of Venom War, there’s a new lethal protector in the Venom suit. But who? There are four suspects, and Dylan Brock is on the case. This seems like a back-to-basics start for the title with a fun mystery bent, so fingers crossed, should be less complicated than, you know, all that other stuff that just happened.
4. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #1

Release Date: December 11, 2024
Spinning out of the yet-to-be-released Disney+ animated series, this new comic book miniseries takes a very different look at Spider-Man in his younger years. Looking for a sneak peek of what to expect from the TV show? Look no further, true believers!
5. Laura Kinney: Wolverine #1

Release Date: December 11, 2024
Erica Schultz and Giada Belviso spin Laura Kinney into her own series. Given Schultz already wrote the character (excellently) before, and has been crushing it on the Elektra/Daredevil series, this is one to watch.
6. Infinity Watch #1

Release Date: December 11, 2024
Spinning out of the recent, very fun annual crossover Infinity Watch takes the human bearers of the Infinity Stones and puts them on a ragtag team together. Given these characters all seem to hate each other and at least one or two are straight up villains, it should be an interesting mix.
7. Alien: Paradiso #1

Release Date: December 11, 2024
Do you know who deserves a vacation? The Xenomorph. And that’s just what he (?) is gonna get in this new series which sends the perfect specimen to a beach-and-sand resort for a weekend of mayhem.
8. Ultimate Spider-Man #12

Release Date: December 18, 2024
While the cover is selling this as a fun Christmas romp, this is closing out the first year of Ultimate Spider-Man. Sure, we could be in for some heart-warming hijinx. But with The Maker’s return imminent, I’d expect a dark turn as we enter the new year.
9. TVA #1

Release Date: December 18, 2024
Mixing together characters from Loki with classic Marvel Universe characters — and a few twists and riffs — TVA #1 may be the best of both worlds MCU/616 fans have been looking for. Plus: more clock people!
10. Timeslide #1

Release Date: December 25, 2024
Every year Marvel releases a one-shot that teases what’s to come. This year? That’s Timeslide, which features Bishop and Cable and gives a little preview of what to expect from Marvel 2025 as the duo shunts through the timestream.
11. Sabretooth: The Dead Don’t Talk #1

Release Date: December 25, 2024
It’s going to be a Red Christmas when Frank Tieri tells bloody tales of Wolverine’s arch-enemy throughout history.
