Todd McFarlane Returns To Spawn:
You just can’t keep Todd McFarlane away from Spawn. And the iconic creator will be back on writing duties on the title next year, starting with Spawn #360. Along for the ride? Artist Brett Booth.
Per PR provided to Comic Book Club, “This highly anticipated issue launches readers into a bold new chapter of the Spawn Universe as Spawn’s powers are restored, the Dead Zones are thrown open, and new threats emerge. In Spawn #360, Bludd has triumphed, Spawn has been defeated, and the Vampire Kingdom has ascended. As the world reels from these seismic events, the stage is set for a stunning new direction in the bestselling series that continues to captivate audiences worldwide.”
Sounds cool! But will everyone’s favorite character, the countdown clock, be back? Stay tuned. Spawn #360 hits comic book shops on January 1, 2025.
DSTLRY Announces Last Flight Out Of Wichita:
Perfectly timed for the travel season, DSTLRY has announced Last Flight Out of Wichita, a new neo-noir series from B. Clay Moore and Mack Chater.
Set in 1977, the book follows two Vietnam vets who are “struggling to make ends meet in the Midwest.” After ending up in the middle of Kansas City’s world of organized crime, they fight both mob bosses and the Purple Capsule Gang for control of the underworld.
Said Moore, “Last Flight Out of Wichita examines the different ways people try to reach for an American Dream that isn’t available to them through conventional methods.”
Added Chater, “Noir has such a gorgeous visual language, mostly codified throughout the ‘50s and ‘60s beginning with folks like Fritz Lang and continuing with designers like Saul Bass. The ’70s dragged the genre out of the shadows, showing every scar. This is a lavishly decadent, gritty descent into bullets, drugs, and sleepless nights.”
The first issue hits stores in February.
Valiant Brings Zombies: Resurrection To FCBD 2025:
Valiant is alive like never before, so it makes sense they’re bringing Valiant Zombies: Resurrection to Free Comic Book Day 2025.
Spinning out of the end of Resurgence of the Valiant Universe, many of the heroes are missing, and the world has been taken over by zombies. Seems bad! The one-shot will be written by Fred Van Lente, with art by Diego Giribaldi and Tomas Aira, and will spin out into a summer event series. In addition, the Free Comic Book Day issue will also tease Valiant Beyond, a line of comics that, per PR, are “designed for new and lapsed readers, that are set to launch in Spring 2025.”
You can pick it up at your local comic shop on May 3, 2025.
