As teased in the back of this week’s final issue of Predator vs. Black Panther, the next title up in Marvel’s mash-up franchise is Predator vs. Spider-Man. And presumably, the Yautja warrior will chop off the head of everyone’s favorite wall-crawler, melt the skin off his skull, and then mount the skull on the wall of his spaceship.
Okay, probably not. But this marks the third series following the hit Predator vs. Wolverine, and the aforementioned Predator vs. Black Panther. Like the previous two, this one will be written by Benjamin Percy, and feature art by Marcelo Ferreira. And while the match-ups seemed to be pretty fair, pitting Marvel’s regenerating mutant against the Predator throughout history; then all of Wakanda against an army of Predators… I don’t know about Spidey, man.
The teaser itself is pretty bare-bones, showing off a Variant Cover for the April 2025 debuting series by Pepe Larraz and Marte Gracia with the Predator holding Spider-Man over his head in front of what looks like the Empire State Building. Maybe he should make a day of it, and kill Spider-Man at the Statue of Liberty, before taking in a show on Broadway? Probably not The Lion King, though, that could go bad quickly.
Also, just a note, without getting into specifics, I’ll add that when we talked to Percy a few months back, he had teased a different, more physically appropriate match-up was happening next; not Spider-Man. Perhaps that’s being held for a later date, so there might be more hunts following this one.
