Somehow, ‘Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker’ Has Returned From Marvel Comics

Star Wars: the Rise of Skywalker #1 cover crop

Way back in 2019, Disney and Lucasfilm released Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. And now, five plus years later, Marvel Comics will adapt the movie into a new, five-issue limited series written by Jody Houser with art by Will Sliney — including “all new scenes not in the final film,” per PR from Marvel. Will that include more Reylo kissing? Unknown as of press time.

“There’s a resurgence of interest in these characters, especially Kylo Ren, Darth Vader’s blood heir,” Editor Mark Paniccia shared via press release. “Jody’s script captures the impact of these iconic moments between the film’s heroes and villains, while the art by Will Sliney and dazzling colors by Guru-eFX give a visually unique experience of this epic finale.”

The book will be releases right around the time Marvel also releases Charles Soule and Luke Ross’s Star Wars: Legacy of Vader, which is set between The Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker, and charts Kylo Ren’s rise to Supreme Leader of the First Order.

Check out the synopsis for the series, unlettered interior pages, and covers by Phil Noto, Jodie Muir, and Brian Stelfreeze, below. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Adaptation #1 hits stores on February 26, 2025.
