The only thing that can take on the armored maniac known as Doctor Doom? More metal. And that’s where Marvel’s latest One World Under Doom tie-in title, Weapon X-Men, comes in.
The new series teams up Wolverine, Deadpool, Cable, Chamber and Thunderbird in a high-stakes mission to take down Doctor Doom. And the team behind the scenes is formidable, too: Joe Casey is writing, with ChrisCross on art.
“When I pitched this series over a year ago, I knew it was going to be big… but writing a brand-new, premier super-team of top-tier, marquee mutants as they take on some of the most iconic villains in the modern Marvel Universe has turned out to be even more fun than I could’ve dreamed of,” Casey said via press release provided to Comic Book Club. “If you’re a longtime fan of the expansive nature of the Marvel Universe — like I am — you don’t want to miss out. WEAPON X-MEN is going to be dangerous, unpredictable and classic all at the same time!”
After Doctor Doom declares himself Emperor of the world, the team of mutants go in “guns blazing” to Latveria, to take on Doctor Doom. But after that, the ongoing series will unleash the sharps against other big enemies, including an “all-new threat that will force this group of bad**s heroes to lock in and unleash their deadly skills like they never have before.”
You can check out the cover to Weapon X-Men #1, and two interior pages, below. The new title debuts on February 19, 2025.
