‘Immortal Thor’ #19 Recruits 19 Artists

If art makes you immortal, then Immortal Thor #19 is about to immortalize 19 different artists. The upcoming issue from Marvel Comics will be an art jam with multiple one-page stories including an array of all-star pencillers.

In the issue, per PR from Marvel, “While Thor is away gathering resources to deal with the looming threat of Utgard, IMMORTAL THOR #19 spotlights different characters from Thor’s legendary mythos in single-page stories, each drawn by a different artist. The stories will be connected by the mysterious viewpoint of a significant hero from Thor’s past who’s set to return in next week’s IMMORTAL THOR #17.”

In case you’re curious about the weird page count, Jan Bazaldua will provide two pages for the issue to open and close the story, and set the stage for the next story arc. Additional artists include Dan Jurgens, Valerio Schiti, CAFU, Lee Garbett, and Martín Cóccolo. Humberto Ramos and Leonard Kirk’s pages will “pick up plot threads introduced in Strange Academy and Avengers Inc., respectively.” In addition, writer Al Ewing will reunite with artists he’s worked with before like Luciano Vecchio, Juann Cabal, and David Baldeón.
