Peacemaker Season 2 is coming in 2025, and now, thanks to a promo for Max that just dropped teasing a whole slew of stuff coming to the streaming service next year, we’ve got our first look at the second season of the DC Studios show. And that includes a brief glimpse at Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr.
In between footage of shows ranging from The Last of Us Season 2, to The Gilded Age and more, we also get a brief look at the John Cena-starring, James Gunn-created hit. In it, we see Peacemaker (Cena) exiting some sort of broken-down location with two dudes standing guard. Then Vigilante (Freddie Stroma) brandishes two guns.
And then Frank Grillo strides through an office, wearing a badge. He’s new to the DC Universe — and Peacemaker — though he’ll actually pop up first as a voice on Creature Commandos. If you’ve seen the trailers for that animated series, as you may recall he has white hair. Grillo explained at New York Comic Con that, unfortunately, they just couldn’t get it right in time for live-action. So what you get is Frank Grillo, as Frank Grillo.
However, there’s another reason he’s there… Peacemaker killed his son in The Suicide Squad. So it’ll be interesting to see how that all plays out.
Other footage glimpsed includes Peacemaker out of costume cutting a guy’s throat, Emilia Harcourt (Jennifer Holland) looking pissed off and bloody in a biker bar, and Peacemaker cheers-ing his team, including Harcourt and Vigilante, as well as John Economos (Steve Agee) and Leota Adebayo (Danielle Brooks). “No matter how far away we are from each other, no one will break us apart,” Peacemaker says… Probably teasing they’re going to get broken apart.
The Peacemaker portion starts at about 1:18 in the trailer below. No specific premiere date has been announced at this time.
