Is Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch In The ‘Agatha All Along’ Finale?

Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

One of the biggest burning questions hanging over Agatha All Along since the premiere episode is whether Elizabeth Olsen would return as the Scarlet Witch. And now that the final two episodes are streaming on Disney+, we know the answer. But do you want to know whether Olsen — and Wanda Maximoff — are back? We’re not going to make you wait, so here goes…

Yes, Scarlet Witch is in the final episodes of Agatha All Along. Sort of.

In the series premiere, we got to see Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) trapped in a Mare of Easttown-inspired sequence, still stuck in Wanda’s hex. While there, she discovered a dead body in the woods that was clearly Wanda. In fact, it was wearing the same clothes Wanda wore previously in the MCU. And we heard that it seemed like she had been flattened, just how Wanda was taken out in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Wanda’s name has popped up several times throughout the series, her shadow looming long over everything. Most notably when it turned out that Teen (Joe Locke) was actually her son Billy Maximoff, his soul transferred to the dead body of Eastview resident William Kaplan. And when Billy asked Agatha about it, she was a little feisty in her answer.

“Is Wanda Maximoff really dead?” asked Billy, to which Agatha replied, “Yes. No. Maybe.”

Granted, Agatha didn’t know, exactly. She was told Wanda was dead and saw a body in the hex spell. But she wasn’t at Wundagore when it happened, so she didn’t know for sure.

So that’s the backstory there, and it certainly seemed to be leading to an Elizabeth Olsen cameo of some sort in the final two episodes. And we did get one… Kind of. Specifically, in Episode 8, “Follow Me My Friend To Glory At The End,” towards the end of the trials on the Witches’ Road, Agatha is coaching Billy to try and connect with his final moments with his brother, Tommy. And in the process, we hear bits of Scarlet Witch and Vision’s (Paul Bettany) dialogue from the WandaVision scene where they’re putting their kids to bed… Right before Wanda brings down the hex on Westview, and Billy, Tommy, and Vision disappear forever (at least until Agatha All Along).

But alas, other than that poignant audio cue, there’s no Elizabeth Olsen cameo. As far as we know, Wanda Maximoff is still dead in the MCU. That is until Marvel decides to bring her back… Just not in Agatha All Along.
