Wondering how many descriptive words you can jam in one comic line? Well, get ready, because Marvel Comics has announced that Marvel Unlimited is launching Astonishing Infinity Comics, a new line of digital comic books. And right out of the gate is Astonishing Spider-Man by Scott Aukerman and Salva Espin, which is available right now.
The news was announced at Marvel’s Next Big Thing panel at New York Comic Con, with the news that Astonishing Spider-Man #1 and #2 are now available free with no login required, for a limited time.
“Whether you’re a regular reader of Spidey, or you’ve never even read a single comic featuring the ol’ Wall-Crawler before, there’ll be something in ASTONISHING SPIDER-MAN for you!” teased Aukerman via a press release provided to Comic Book Club. “I wanted to start our book by putting Peter into a terrible situation which doesn’t have any easy outs, and let’s just say it gets worse as it goes along! It’s the kind of thing that is going to really make Peter Parker examine why he does what he does, and whether he should even continue doing it.”
The line will expand in December with Astonishing X-Men by Steve Orlando and Francesco Archidiacono, and then again in January with Astonishing Avengers by Alex Paknadel & Tim Seeley and artist Phillip Sevy.
Check out some of the art and covers of the digital comics, below. Also I have no idea how or why these are different than the other Infinity Comics, they just are! Deal with it!
