Ice Cream Man reveals all-star lineup.

This is Comic Book Club News for October 11, 2024.

Classic Simpsons Treehouse Of Horror Comics Get An Omnibus:

Matt Groening’s classic Simpsons Treehouse of Horror comics are getting a third omnibus, completing the collection of books based on the show.

The omnibus collection comes from Abrams ComicArts, which takes the comics first published in 1995 and collects ’em all. In total, 23 issues were produced of the original stories, and now it’s complete thanks to Simpsons Treehouse of Horror Ominous Omnibus Volume 3: Fiendish Fables of Devilish Delicacies.

The book comes in a deluxe, die-cut slipcase that glows in the dark, and is available in stores now for $44.99.

Matt Wagner And Kelley Jones’s Dracula Heads To Kickstarter:

Matt Wagner and Kelley Jones’s Dracula: Book II – The Brides has just hit Kickstarter – and it’s an immediate success.

In just two days, the project has amassed over $124,000 on a glib $666 goal. Meaning the second volume of the team’s retelling of the classic legend will definitely be coming to print.

Picking up where the first book, The Impaler, left off, per PR provided to Comic Book Club The Brides will feature “120 pages of sexy and sinister story and art, almost 30 pages longer than BOOK I.”

For this volume, the duo is joined by José Villarrubia on colors and lettering by Rob Leigh. Teased Wagner on the titular Brides, “Who were these women before they became part of Dracula’s sinister harem? How and why did he come to claim them as his undead paramours? And what role do they ultimately play in his ongoing saga?”

You can pledge the Kickstarter until Friday, November 1.

Ice Cream Man Reveals All-Star Lineup:

Image Comics has been teasing an array of creators as associated with their horror comic Ice Cream Man for a few weeks now. And as it turns out, it’s going to be bigger and wilder than we thought as a murderer’s row of creators are teaming up with W. Maxwell Prince, Martín Morazzo and Chris O’Halloran for a special issue featuring one-page horror stories.

Some of the creators taking a lick of the ol’ cone in Ice Cream Man #43 include: Grant Morrison, Patton Oswalt, Kelly Sue DeConnick, Matt Fraction, Jeff Lemire, Geoff Johns, Zoe Thorogood, Deniz Camp, and Frank Barbiere. Prince will also provide a one-pager, with all the stories illustrated by Morazzo and O’Halloran.

Said Prince via press release: “How lucky are we? That some of comics’ most beloved writers agreed (or one may say were tricked) into contributing to our issue of one-page horror stories. Our MO has always been compression—getting a full story to fit one floppy. But this is a whole new level, and a whole new challenge. We hope that you like our little stories, and hope even more that you appreciate our guests and their amazing brains.”

Ice Cream #43 will hit comic book stores on Wednesday, January 15.
